The Lightless Moon owes a debt to The Guild. When a falling star crashes into the uncharted jungle east of Brightlantern, The Guild wants it secured before anyone else gets there. It's a straightforward job for a Delver crew — find the crash site, stake the claim, come home.

Nothing in the jungle stays straightforward for long.

Beneath ancient standing stones, Sorius, Tanalin, and Elwyn find more than a meteorite. Something is spreading through the earth around the crash site — a darkness that moves, that hungers, that thinks. Whatever it is, it didn't come from the jungle.

To Sorius, the air in the Cloak & Bell tavern smelled primarily of boiled cabbage and whatever passed for ale. Most taverns in Brightlantern smelled as such. The frontier town wasn't known for its cuisine. Brightlantern itself was almost as dangerous as the jungle beyond. Yes, there were rumors of time-lost fortunes and unparalleled opportunity.
